'Darwin 200' 2009

In 2009 the UK celebrated the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Darwin. Artist John Dyer was appointed as the artist in residence for the 'Darwin200' celebrations in the South West of the UK. As part of his residency the artist produced a series of paintings of the potato harvest in Peru and endangered animals and encouraged young artists to make their own paintings of animals, Darwin and the natural world. These are some of the resulting pieces of art from the children.
